Hey y’all,
I’m at my wits' end trying to keep track of indie spaces and project rooms in the area. It feels like contemporary art web design is stuck in a permanent time warp.
A gallery will host an incredible residency show or a pop-up group exhibition, it'll run for three weeks, and then the second it wraps up, the page is either deleted, buried under a dead link, or reduced to a tiny Instagram post that you can't search or sort by date. There's zero institutional memory online for smaller, cutting-edge spaces. If you didn't physically walk through the door or screenshot the flyer, it's like it never happened.
Are you guys just maintaining massive local bookmarks folders and spreadsheets at this point, or how are you actually archiving or tracking what’s happening week-to-week? Feels like half the battle of engaging with contemporary art right now is just digital archaeology.
