Édgar Negret

Édgar Negret was an influential Colombian sculptor and pioneer of modern geometric abstraction in Latin America. After training in Cali and working extensively in New York, Paris, and Bogotá, he consolidated a style characterized by modular structures made of bent aluminum and iron sheets joined with nuts and bolts. His work is part of renowned international institutions such as MoMA in New York and the art collection of the Banco de la República.
